Angela Mikrut

I was born and raised in a small southwest suburb of Chicago, Illinois and graduated in May 2021 from The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC.

​

Ever since I can remember I spent my free time doing something artistic, from sketching Disney cartoons in front of the TV, to making jewelry on my bedroom floor until my neck got stiff. Despite the inevitable changes that take place as we grow, this creative crutch has been constant in my life. 

 

I grew up with a mom who was always scrapbooking, so pictures were always around and I soon realized how much joy photographs gave me, so much so, that by the time I got to high school I often found myself playing around with my mom’s Canon. From then on the camera came with me on every family vacation and I was soon the designated "family party picture taker." 

 

For some time I obsessed over picture ideas I came across on Pinterest and would make my 12 year old brother take pictures of me and my friends in an effort to recreate them. As I matured through my young teenage years I gradually became more and more of the person behind the camera, excitingly encouraging my family members to keep a pose I would casually catch them in. Capturing them in the moment and looking back on those pictures fills my heart in unique way that nothing else can compete with. I would love to capture moments like that for you so that same joy can be shared with you and your loved ones. Along with photography, I also love drawing and transforming sketches into digital design work. Drawing and crafts have always been apart of me, and more recently, I discovered my passion in the digital world. I decided to get a certificate in digital art and design at my university in hopes of working in this field after graduation.
